Director - Co-Head of UK Domestic
Andrew Costard has over 30 years experience in private banking, with the vast majority of that time spent in client-facing roles. He joined SGPB Hambros in 1998 having worked previously at two other leading UK private banks. Originally appointed as a Senior Private Banker, he was a Director heading one of the UK Domestic teams prior to the merger with Kleinwort Benson. He was subsequently appointed head of one of the UK Domestic teams for Kleinwort Hambros in 2016.
Andrew’s role involves managing a team of experienced private bankers looking after UK resident clients from a variety of sectors – but including inherited wealth and retired, City professionals such as lawyers and investment bankers, entrepreneurs and owner managers of businesses. He also manages his own portfolio of long-standing clients, some of whom have complex multi-jurisdictional issues.
He is a director of SG Hambros Trust Company Limited and also has managerial responsibility for the bank’s Cambridge Office. He served as a director of the SG staff pension scheme for 10 years.
Andrew holds a Master of Arts degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
