Head of Business Development - Channel Islands
Born and educated in Jersey, Michelle then studied Mathematics at the University of Bath before taking up her first banking role with JP Morgan in Bournemouth. She returned to the Island in 2003 to work at HSBC Private Bank and study for her benchmark investment qualifications, taking on her first Private Banker role later that year. With a focus on international clients, Michelle furthered her studies with a financial derivatives qualification and her Investment Management Certificate.
A short sabbatical to travel then preceded a move to London in 2007 to work in the international team at Coutts & Co. Michelle expanded her focus to include UK resident but non-domiciled clients and undertook her CeMAP and PCIAM qualifications to become a Chartered Wealth Manager. A series of internal promotions saw her managing teams across London and the South East including supervising regulated advice and leading two large change projects.
Michelle took the decision to return to Jersey in 2014 to take up the role of Senior Private Banker with SGPB Hambros, targeted with growing the business and bringing on new clients. In 2015 Michelle was promoted to Head of Business Development for the Channel Islands business of SGPB Hambros, coordinating the CI Bank’s business development activity and new client acquisition strategy.
