A Donor Advised Fund, known as a DAF is a charitable account created under the ‘umbrella’ of a sponsoring non-profit organisation such as the UK registered charity Prism the Gift Fund (Prism).

Prism’s mission is to increase the flow of funds into the charitable sector by creating efficiencies wherever they can. They focus on effective administration of the giving by individuals, collectives and foundations, making significant gifts to organisations all around the world.

An individual can make a charitable donation of cash or assets including shares and property in a time-, cost- and tax- effective way. The donor can take time to consider causes they wish to support and then advise where grants are disbursed for charitable purposes to charities, social enterprises, and not-for-profits organisations around the world.

DAFs are an efficient alternative to private grant-making foundations and can also be used for corporate philanthropy.
